Getting a reliable repair without being ripped off is easy when using Florida AC Repairman. We charge for a service call, that is coming to you.
Then, we find out the cause of failure and tell you exactly what it is and how come it failed. That is when we are able to give you a full cost quote. We cannot tell you a price for the repair before we know what we are really repairing.
You need to be mindful of what parts cost today. Some are less expensive and some are more expensive. It is always relative here. When you want to compare estimates for example, you need to compare them with the same parts made by the same companies.
I can get some replacement parts for MUCH less than other parts. Florida AC Repairman does not use junk quality parts because, we stand behind our repairs with a warranty you can count on and therefore we try to use only Made In The USA parts. They are a higher quality and yes, they cost a little more.
This is a trick question because, there is no average for all repairs. There is an average for adding Freon to a unit. That service call is about $200.00.
To replace a capacitor can cost between, $150 and $250 dollars depending upon the unit. Some capacitors cost much more than others.
Now a fan replacement can cost as little as $250 dollars or with a larger unit, $400 dollars. So you understand what I mean now when I said trick question.
This also is a relative issue as explained above. If you are looking for a cheap repair and lowest price way into a repair, then we might not be the company for you.
We have a reputation for high quality workmanship and therefore, do not use second or third class parts that might be a lot cheaper than parts we will warranty. We hope you understand this. We do not use junk China parts that will break for sure! It is that easily said….
That will depend upon the insurance you have. Standard homeowners insurance does not cover Air Conditioning repairs. But, there is some extended warranty companies that will cover it for an extra fee when you get it.
Do you have an “Extended Home Warranty” policy from an insurance company that gave you a rider covering your AC unit? If you have one, please let the tech know when he gets to your house. Better than that, if you can tell the office when you contact us, so we can get what is known as a pre-authorization.
A lot of the companies that do give you a good insurance policy will require that we contact them to get the repair approved beforehand.
It will depend upon the repair that is needed. You cannot assume the repair is easy or that it is going to be difficult. You must first know what is needed to be fixed and then you can know how much thois emergency repair is going to cost.
Most companies believe that 15 years is the life cycle of a unit. Depending upon how it was cared for over the years, it could last much longer or if it was abused, it will not last even 15 years! You need to handle maintenance on the unit to ensure it has a long life and saves you as much money as possible.
That question ranges from $45 dollars to $500 dollars. From using a little bit to using a lot. From using 410A Freon to using R22 Freon. What does your unit call for? If it is a 417 unit, known as New 22, it could be really inexpensive. An older unit with R22 might be a couple hundred to charge it up.
Freon is not just one gas. There are several different types and each type is a different cost per pound or unit. It depends how you are being charged. HVAC companies are licensed to carry all the different types of Freon and these bottles cost a lot of money each.
I can assure you of this, you cannot buy all the different types and have them in your home. You can only buy 134a in your local Home Depot or Lowes. But you cannot buy R22 or 410A and these are usually the types in your home units.
Simple answer is YES YES YES… I would highly suggest this so you are not putting a new unit with an old pile of junk that will not let it run properly or efficiently. It certainly will save you money in electric costs without a doubt!
Usually you will be able to visably see damage. There might be a large hole that is clearly seen. The compressor might be seized and thus, it blows the breaker right away.
Then, of course there is the age of the unit that is a giant factor. Nothing will last forever as you well know. Then there is a computer manifold that will give a report, which will help you understand what is happening inside the unit.
In most cases, yes of course it can be fixed. The second part of that question is, should it be fixed or replaced? You do not get a leak in a well maintained and cared for unit. Is the leak internal? Or is it the line set that needs to be repaired? This is always easily done by a good AC Mechanic.
Usually you can get it done in an 8 hour day. But there are units that will take longer. Then there are units so small that, they can be put into service within 5 hours. But as a rule of thumb, one day is all it will take a crew of 2 experienced technicians.
You have to understand that, if your unit is on the ground floor level, it is going to be a lot easier to remove and then, replace. If you have it in a closet, that might be easy to get in and out of too. But, a lot of homes have the units in the attic and that is where the trouble comes in.
It is a lot harder to get them out and then get the new unit back into the same area and connected. These types of issues are thought out when the quote for the replacement is given. It is always less if it is easier! Just more food for thought!
From a smaller system it can cost about $2000.00 dollars all the way up the ladder. Florida AC Repairman have installed systems that cost over $50,000.00 with a chiller and multiple package units. It all depends upon how many square feet you are cooling and what the space is used for.
If it is your TV room, it is much less cost than if it is a ballroom for dancing. We do come and give you a free estimate so you are not blind sided. You get it in writing to approve before we do a thing! If you just read the answer to the above, it also goes for this question as well. Cost is a relative term that has a lot of factors behind it.
If you think it is a hard job, it probably is. If you think it is an easy job, then you should ask a few more questions when the quote is being given to you. This way you have a full and complete understanding of each and every part.
Of course we warranty ALL our work. If it is a new unit, that is a factory warranty. If it is a repair to your existing unit, we warranty our work. If we put Freon in, we tell you how much we put in. If there is a leak and we tell you we fixed it, be assured we will stand on that repair and your leak is fixed!
If we replace a fan for instance, we will give you a 6 month parts and labor warranty so you sleep well at night! We love a happy customer and that is why ALL our work is covered one way or another.
Window AC units are okay to keep a smaller condo cooled down, inside a larger home it requires a much larger and higher powered central air conditioning system which will deliver comfortable and cool air throughout all the rooms. These systems are not only more convenient and more powerful than window air conditioners, central AC units are more energy efficient, and they are hidden from sight, unlike a window unit.
